About Us.

The Central Metro church first met for worship & fellowship in June 1998 with just 8 members. From that small beginning we have grown to around 40 faithful Christians and continue to increase with the help of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Who Are We?

In order to understand what we say about ourselves, it is important to know who we are and the answer is simple. We are ordinary people much like you, from different backgrounds, cultures, traditions, races & religions who have all come together in Jesus Christ. Thanks to Him we enjoy a special relationship with God, each other & our fellow human beings.

If you were to ask by what ‘philosophy’ we lived our lives, then we would express it through the words of Christ Himself.

NIB Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: "`Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it:`Love your neighbour as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

 And,

NIB John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Who are we then? Christians who follow Jesus Christ and only Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to share the message of Christ & His salvation with everyone who is interested in knowing the truth about their spiritual condition and eventual eternal resting place, in either heaven or hell.

Our Mission

It is our mission in this life to serve the Lord by preaching (sharing) the bible message and by doing good deeds or works in His name.

 Works & Activities.

As God’s people we take seriously the responsibility to be ‘Christ like’, which means that we imitate the life and teachings of Jesus and live a life of service to Him & the community around us.

Bible Classes & Studies.

We hold bible classes for all ages and occasionally hold public meetings when we issue the invitation to join the Lord’s church (body).

(The web site will make available many past copies of sermons & lessons presented to the congregation. Look at Archives Link)

Charitable Deeds

There are times when we find ourselves in trouble and are not able to cope with daily life. The church extends whatever helps it can to relieve the burdens & suffering of people anywhere, without favour or partiality. Unfortunately, our charity is limited by our ability to give generously, as we do not ask for assistance from government or big business.

Foreign Missions

Christ told His disciples to preach the gospel to the whole world (Mat.28:-18-20).

We also believe it is our duty to do likewise and so support local missionaries in the Philippines. There are two principal works, Palawan & Tarlac. The leaders are local men & women who understand the culture and know how best to teach the truth.

Australian Missions

The gospel is not only for other nations, it is also vital to the well being of Australians and we try to support people in the congregation to teach the local community and encourage everyone to share around the virtues of true Christianity.

It Is All Free!

The request for help or knowledge is free. We do not charge for asking questions, spiritual guidance or counseling, food parcels, visiting the sick or anything else. Salvation is a gift from God and we are not permitted to sell or profit by it.

Donate

Though we offer our services free, the people who give of their time, talents & means do so because they love the Lord. If we can support more men & women to serve full time, then more can be done. If you would like to help the gospel to be spread & thereby improve the lives of many, please follow the links to our donations page.

In the name of Christ, thank you.
